New Partnership with Covernotes Coffee & Tea

The Writers’ Community of York Region has recently partnered with Covernotes Coffee & Tea on Main Street, Newmarket. We’ve made arrangements with the new owners, Omar and Ashley, to hold monthly open mic readings the third Saturday afternoon of each month. So far we’ve held two and have had a wide variety of genres shared.

This event is open to everyone, member or not.

Doesn’t matter if you’re not published.

Doesn’t matter what you write.

We encourage everyone to come out and read a piece. Keep an eye out for the listing in our newsletter, just in case we have to move the date. This event runs from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and each person has approx. 10 minutes to read something they’d like to share.

Also, as a members-only perk, Covernotes has given all published WCYR members shelf-space in their back Book Room. Books are on consignment at a very low rate – 15%. Can’t do much better than that. Each author is limited to a total of 10 books.
