Celebrating Books and Authors

On Saturday September 23rd Covernotes Cafe helped celebrate this month’s grand opening of the WCYR Author Book Shelf in the book room. Member-authors Peter Howe, Catherine McClennan Brydon, Val Tobin, Dianne Gemmell, Nanci Pattenden, and MJ Moores joined us for an afternoon of reading and hobnobbing in honour of this fantastic partnership.

With nearly twenty local authors’ books on display (and more on the way!), Covernotes’ owners Omar and Ashley are excited to work with the Writers’ Community of York Region on this, and other, new projects. With an aim toward becoming one of Newmarket’s prime celebrants of local art and culture, Covernotes is working to bridge the gap between those who create and those who enjoy.
