SUMMARY:Let Eloquence But Speak: a presentation by Mark McAlister
DESCRIPTION:“When I met poet Langford Dixon in the 1970s\, he opened my heart to the world of poetry and enchanted me with his wonderful speaking voice. Today\, I am an eager explorer of contemporary poetry\, but I sorely miss Langford’s spirit.” \nNear the end of his life\, Langford published a historical anthology of Canadian poetry\, Let Eloquence But Speak. \nIn this presentation\, Mark McAlister recites some of the highlights and invites conversation: \n\nHow does this poetry “speak” to you?\nDoes it still have meaning in these postmodern times?\n\nAttend this connecting community event at the Richmond Hill Central Library – Room A\, on Tuesday\, April 21\, 2026 at 9:45 a.m.
