DESCRIPTION:This hands-on workshop is designed for writers who are ready to develop a keen editorial eye for their work. Participants will be provided with practical tools and techniques to transform their drafts into polished pieces of writing. \nKey Learning Objectives \nThis workshop will help writers \n\nedit in layers\, making multiple focused passes\ncreate tools like reverse outlines and character bibles\ntighten prose by cutting wordiness\, redundancy\, passive voice\, and crutch phrases\nmake dialogue purposeful and natural\nstrengthen core mechanics\nclean up the narrative point of view\, and\nutilize modern editing tools\n\nParticipants will be provided with time to put some of these techniques into practice to polish a short excerpt of their work. \nBiography \nElise Abram is a retired high school English teacher with 25 years of classroom experience.
