Are you a Twitter fiend? Facebook? How about Instagram? Consider putting those technical skills and social media prowess to work for, well, the WCYR.
Our Social Media Coordinator is a critical position. Without someone steady to rely on, it’s difficult to get the word out about upcoming meetings, seminars, and workshops. It’s a fun position, too! We love starting conversations, memes, and playing with prompts.
This position is open to any member of the WCYR.
You would coordinate with the Public Relations Rep, Seminar-Workshop Coordinator, and Special Events Coordinator in order to spread the word about our events via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. This volunteer will also work with the Blog Editor to promote and encourage dialogue about posts on the site. The Social Media Coordinator will run initiatives to help engage members and friends of the WCYR in online discussions. Controlling the WCYR’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts, the Social Media Coordinator will help us forge connections with other writers and engage writer-related organizations.
The Social Media Coordinator is a Member-at-Large position. As a “thank you” for the time commitment of this position, the Coordinator receives a free membership after six months of service.
This is a great opportunity for you to gain some amazing experience working with a professional organization. You can utilize your skills to help the WCYR and its members in a positive and fulfilling way. Volunteering in this position allows you to have a valuable new item for your résumé under “Volunteer Experience”.
