WCYR Member Perk: Book Selling Opportunities!

Book selling season is now upon us… are you ready?

Published members of the WCYR visited the Toronto Comicon on March 15, 16, & 17 to talk writing and publishing, and to sell their books!

At the community table, we had an opportunity to make first contact and rekindle con-friendships.

On Sunday, Agnes and MJ ran a panel entitled Writing ~ The Creative Process. Over fifty writers were present for the Q&A session, asking everything from how to join our community, to writing habits, style techniques, agent qualifications, and publishing options. The conference committee had to run us out of the room we were so popular! Many attendees followed us back to our table for more one-on-one Q&A.

It is part of the WCYR’s mission to provide opportunities for published and soon-to-be-published members to sell their books and build their fanbase as local Canadian authors. Our Special Events team is working hard to bring a variety of opportunities, including conventions, fairs and festivals, and outdoor marketplaces, to your door.

Our next event is the Bookshelf, run by the WCYR, and then we’re footing the bill for a spot at the Aurora Street Festival! If you haven’t requested a spot, do so now… they’re going fast (contact Nanci Pattenden for more details).
