The Writers’ Community of York Region (WCYR) encourages, inspires, celebrates, and supports writers of all genres at all stages of development.
We are a collective of local authors, poets, and industry professionals who strive to build a supportive and encouraging framework for writers and their craft. The WCYR provides a platform for education, inspiration, connection, and celebration. We aim to be the hub and representing body for literary endeavours in York Region.
NETWORK
Take advantage of our many opportunities to network with writers just like you by attending our workshops, write-ins, book club, conferences, and beta reader groups.
VOLUNTEER
Get involved by volunteering with the WCYR. We need people just like you to help our programs run smoothly, represent our members’ interests on our board, and faciliate workshops.
PROMOTE YOUR WRITING
Participate in book-selling events, promote yourself and your books on our social media sites and newsletter, write for our blog, and add your name to our member directory.
