Visual Storytelling: From Script to Screen with Kim Sparks

Aurora Public Library 15145 Yonge St., Aurora, Ontario, Canada

Have you always wanted to know more about the world of screenwriting?  Maybe considered adapting your novel into a screenplay?

Kim Sparks will  be joining us to talk about the screenplay format.  Using sample scripts, she will demonstrate how to use actions and dialogue to ‘show don’t tell’ our stories.

Kim will show us some of the tools of the trade:  script-writing programs for computer and mobile apps.   She will also share some knowledge about television writing and collaborative writing in television writing rooms. She will share her views about working with an agent as a screenwriter. Bring your questions for the Q and A.

What is a “Blue Pencil” session? It’s an opportunity to work with a published author, in a small group setting (Zoom), to get feedback on a WIP (work in progress).

We have gathered a fantastic group of WCYR Member-Authors & Friends who are eager to share what they have learned, and help guide you on your own writing journey.

Participation will require pre-registration before December 1st.
