The Writers’ Community of York Region is proud to present local, Canadian authors at The Bookshelf. Our usual location is the Riverwalk Commons in Newmarket near the Lions Hall community centre (next to the Farmer’s Market) where local authors, publishers, and reading-related craftpersons from all over York region and the GTA will feature their own works.

The Bookshelf started out as an indoor book fair, but since 2021 it has migrated outdoors to share lawn/walkway space with the Farmers Market.

Learn the stories behind the books. Rub elbows with local talent. Have a cup of coffee and converse with authors in a multitude of genres.
