After I published Living With Your Secrets, my 8-year-old great-niece asked me why I wrote stories that she couldn’t read—my four stories to date were murder mysteries with language and violence, which are inappropriate for her age. Always one to take on a challenge, I decided to write two stories for her and her sister. Lillie Meets Her Hockey Hero and Sadie is a Star were published early June, with plans to write more stories about their adventures. The stories are appropriate for children ages 7-10.
In Lillie’s story, she loves to play hockey. She’s always practicing, always dreaming about being the best, and can’t wait to learn all the skills. And then all her dreams come true.
Sadie’s story is about her love of the stage. She loves to sing. She loves to dance. She moves on the stage like she owns it. And then she meets the real star of the show.
